The Office of Security and Emergency Preparedness (OSEP) has participated in National Preparedness Month for the past four years (2005-2008) as a National Preparedness Month Coalition member. National Preparedness Month is a nationwide effort held each September to encourage Americans to take simple steps to prepare for emergencies in their homes, businesses and schools. The goal of the month is to increase public awareness about the importance of preparing for emergencies and to encourage individuals to take action. OSEP has participated and hosted various events each September to focus attention on steps that students, faculty and staff can take to better prepare for emergencies. September 2008 Preparedness month included a special campus event at the UGA Chapel. A flyer of the event is available here for downloading.
2006 Event - OSEP setting up display at Tate Plaza
2006 Event - OSEP provided a display in the Tate Center
2006 Event - OSEP displayed their "GRAB AND GO" emergency kit.
2006 Event - Athens-Clarke County Police was one of the participants that provided a display near the Student Learning Center.

Chapel that included a presentation by Dr. Schuchat, CDC, as part of September Preparedness Month events.
2007 Event - OSEP provided a display at the East Village Dining Commons along with flyers and bus cards promoting the UGAAlert campus emergency mass notification system. The OSEP banner was also displayed at the Tate Plaza as part of September 2007 National Preparedness Month awareness.
