The University of Georgia encourages faculty, staff, students and citizens to conserve water as seriously low water levels in North Georgia and drought conditions throughout the state continue to threaten the water supply. Top tips for conserving water can be found at: water tips

Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue unveiled the new "Conserve Water Georgia! web site in April 2008 that encourages Georgians to conserve water.

Top tips for conserving water:

Keep a pitcher of water in the refrigerator instead of running the tap for cold drinks, so that every drop goes down you and not the drain.

Use a compost pile instead of a garbage disposal to dispose of food waste.

Eat leftovers to minimize water used for food preparation
