On Dec. 20, 2007 the University of Georgia, in collaboration with local hospitals and first responders, conducted a multi-agency public safey exercise that simulated a large mass casualty emergency.

Outdoor Sirens

Outdoor sirens are activated by Athens/Clarke County only when a tornado warning has been issued for the area. A warning is issued when a tornado has been sighted or indicated by weather radar in the area. You should immediately seek shelter when you hear outdoor weather sirens in Athens.  Click title for:

CAMPUS CRIME PREVENTION - Personal Safety Tips

The International Association of Camus Law Enforcement Administrators (IACLEA) provides this list of Personal Safety Tips for Campus Crime Prevention.
