Upcoming Classes & Programs Offered for the Campus Security Officer Certification Program

This program is open to campus security officers employed by the University of Georgia.

STEP ONE:  Program registration. If you are interested in participating in this program, please proceed to program registration then proceed to STEP TWO:

STEP TWO: Register for a class. Class schedules are now finalized for the Campus Security Officer Certification Program.

         Required classes include:

  • Basic Emergency Preparedness Class - (required) - Next class will be held April 15, 2009, 9:00 - 11:30 am. (UGA Training & Development's Web site registration link will be posted on this site as classes are finalized) 

    • Choose one class to take for NIMS ICS-100.a requirement:

    • NIMS ICS 100.a Class - (required) - April 21, 2009, 1:309 - 4:00 pm, room 369 UGA Miller Learning Center, register here.
  • Fire Safety (required)- Offered through UGA Training & Development (T&D) - Watch for next class on T&D's Web site.
  • Conflict De-escalation Techniques (required) watch for more information on this class.
  • Dawg Watch - (required) - May 19, 2009, 10:00- 11:00 am. (UGA Training & Development's Web site registration link will be posted on this site as classes are finalized)

    • Three elective classes are also offered:

  • Crisis Intervention (elective) -to be announced
  • Campus Emergencies: Responses to Violence - NEW CLASS - (elective) -June 2, 2009, 9:00 - 11:00 am. (UGA Training & Development's Web site registration link will be posted on this site as classes are finalized)
