UGAAlert Test 2008

Posted in: UGA Alert, News, Campus Alert Systems, In the News on Jan 4, 2008 - 3:07:48 PM

On February 8th, 2008, UGA conducted a test of UGAAlert in conjunction with annual Severe Weather Drill.  This test simulated sending out an emergency message.  A brief message stating that a test of the UGAAlert system was being conducted was sent out to all users in the system.  The message  included notifications via voice phone calls to offices and cell phones, e-mail messages, and SMS text messages.  Users were contacted through every method listed in their account.

The previous test of UGAAlert was conducted on Sept. 26, 2007.

Users are encouraged to update their contact information at http://www.ugaalert.uga.edu.  Please contact the Office of Security and Emergency Preparedness at 706-542-5845 or e-mail us at osep@uga.edu with any questions.

Thank you to all who participated in the drill and provided feedback from the drill.
